What started as a way to categorize our collection of board games evolved into a way to share them with people
(other than our family and friends who join us for monthly game nights).

We REALLY enjoy introducing new board games and playing hosts with hot coffee and freshly baked cakes as a way to keep game nights interesting and the spirits high.

And over the years, we began noticing how board game review websites were hard to navigate, overwhelming in content and honestly felt unwelcoming and outdated with dark blues and blacks. So we decided to start a website that’s brighter, cleaner, and quick-to-read reviews, making it easier for you to find a board game you’d love!

The same rings true for board game cafes and we hope to one day open up a board game cafe that prides itself on customer service, beautifully organized games and of course yummy cups of coffee and cakes (stay tuned for this one!)

So if you want to see what we’re up to or the next board game we’re going to share, follow us @pressandplaycafe

Who we are.

Keith & Louisa Brown

We are a married couple living in New York with our cute furry girl, Norah. We grew up playing classic board games with our competitive older siblings, but it wasn’t until several years ago we started adventuring into indie board games.

Keith has a background in graphic design and studied game design in London. When he’s not behind a computer screen you can usually catch him watching a film or doing archery.

Louisa also has a background in graphic design as well as photography (she did not study in London) and you can spot her watercoloring pastries or watching Downton Abbey for the hundredth time.

Norah is a Collie/Shiba Inu mix who was adopted in Brooklyn and loves plushie toys that squeak, going for adventurous walks and bringing in the mail.
